Media relations
A former journalist, Anita has advised Environment Ministers in Australia and led WWF-UK’s press and campaigns team. For the Rainforest Alliance Anita provides a UK & Ireland press office and manages a group of media consultants across Europe.
Campaigns strategy and delivery
Anita helped develop and deliver WWF-UK’s Living Countryside Campaign securing greater legal protection for UK wildlife. For New Forest Barramundi, Anita successfully launched the first farmed barramundi in the UK – securing UK and international coverage.
Events
Anita led WWF’s presence at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Edinburgh (1997), several Party Conferences and securing and co-ordinating WWF’s involvement in “Blue Planet Live!” (2000) – a live symphony orchestra performance of the score to the BBC’s astonishing series “Blue Planet” with accompanying film of the series.
Strategy development
Anita provides training and support on strategic influencing for NGOs. She is working with the Rainforest Alliance to develop their European Communications Strategy and maximise the impact of a growing European presence. And in 2004 she helped establish E3G – Third Generation Environmentalism Limited – an independent not-for-profit agency for a new generation of environmentalism.
