Phew! What a year it’s been! Here are just some of the highlights from The Message Hub’s first year.
January
Anita, Stuart and Mary – a band of 3 intrepid freelancers with complementary skills and a focus on things environmental and ethical – come together to form a partnership. After many hours spent brainstorming names they settle on ‘The Message Hub’. (In retrospect it’s a relief they kicked ‘Soup to Nuts’ into the long grass ...)

May
Mary bids a fond farewell to Selway Moore, an IT client of two years standing, and joins Anita on the Rainforest Alliance account providing support to their partners in their marketing activities around their Rainforest Alliance Certified products.

July

Stuart heads to Brussels for a few days. While there he facilitates and leads the development of the European lobbying strategy for the coming year for Plan, the international children’s agency.

September
Stuart commences work with WWF to help them develop a campaign focusing on the role of the UK Government’s Export Credits Guarantee Department and their role in underwriting environmentally destructive developments around the world.

October
The Message Hub deliver the Taste of Sustainability media briefing for their client the Rainforest Alliance. Resulting press coverage includes the Guardian 5 October 2007 and other titles.

Stuart co-authors a report on behalf of the Environmental Think Tank and The Message Hub client Green Alliance entitled Investing in our future: a European budget for climate security. The report sets out how the EU budget needs to be reformed if Europe is going truly tackle the threats posed by climate change.

Returning to the UK, Stuart chairs a one day dialogue session between senior government officials and leading UK environmental NGOs. Representing The Message Hub client Green Alliance, he brought together these two groups of leading thinkers in the field of climate change to discuss the UK negotiating position in advance of the global climate change conference in Bali in December. The meeting took place amongst the grandeur of the Indian Office Council Chamber at the FCO.

November
Anita is spotted filming a cinema ad for a (household name) partner of the Rainforest Alliance at Elstree Studios. It’s all very hush, hush but look out for Anita’s red carpet debut soon…

December
Anita further cements her role as top class media luvvy! Anita and her partner Russell feature in Red magazine’s seasonal edition, in an article entitled ‘Are you an Eco Worrier?’ in which their green credentials are dissected. Mwah, mwah sweetie!

Anita and Stuart work with the Christian development charity Tearfund in helping them to plan and develop a major campaign on water and sanitation.

Thank you to our clients for such a successful 2007. We’re looking forward to 2008.
